Ears surgery (otoplasty)

Correction of protruding ears (otoplasty) is a cosmetic procedure suitable for patients who have suffered loss of confidence or emotional discomfort due to protruding ears. It is possible to perform correction to one ear if there is a marked asymmetry between the ears, or to both. Plastic surgeons can also form or reconstruct of the outer ear folds in the case of congenital or acquired ear defects.

The aesthetic result is visible almost immediately after the surgery, although the swelling may persist up to several months. The effect is permanent, but children’s ears undergo further formation so the shape may change slightly. This procedure is not recommended for children younger than 5 years.

Face and neck skin lifting (rhytidectomy) is an operation during which face, and neck skin is lifted. As a result, the skin looks younger, the outline of the face appears. During the procedure, special spiked yarns are implanted into skin tissues for 1 / 1,5 years. The operation can be performed on aesthetic facial areas (cheeks, neck, etc.) or can be applied to the entire face, considering individual patient’s problematic skin areas.

After the surgery there are no scars left, only the 2-mm diameter threaded point of insertion is visible, which is usually not noticeable.

Small surface wrinkles or other minor defects that can not be removed during facial skin lifting (rhytidectomy) can be corrected by choosing additional therapies: hyaluronic acid fillers, liposomal fillers, skin tissue replication, skin scrubbing, chemical scrubbing or laser procedures.

Cheeks (Bichat) fat removal is a very common and not difficult operation in plastic surgery. Patients complain that after they lose extra kilos, their cheeks still look the same. Cheeks (Bichat) fat gives fullnes to the lower part of the face and do not perform any important function. For this reason, the removal of cheeks fat is safe and can be done for individuals, who want a smaller and more oval face shape.

During surgery plastic suregon does about a centimeter incision in the oral mucosa, in the fourth upper teeth. After releasing the cheeks fat, it is removed through the same area of incision. The mucus is usually sutured with melting yarns, which shouldn‘t be removed. Also, in the older age, this surgery can be done with a mid-face or endoscopic forehead and eyebrows lift. In this case, the cheeks fat is turned into the cheeks areas or, in general, removed.

After the operation there is no scar left, swelling may last about a couple of weeks, but it is not noticeable. The final result is visible after two, three months. Then patients can enjoy the naturally-occurring changes of the face: the jawbone line and oval face shape.

Forehead and brow lift can be performed as a part of full facelift or as a separate procedure in which forehead wrinkles are smoothed and eyebrows are lifted and adjusted, the subcutaneous layer and muscles of the face are lifted too. The surgery is performed through incisions made at the hairline of the forehead, so the scars are masked well after they heal.

In this clinic, the forehead and brow lift is performed using an advanced endoscopic technique that allows us to perform the operation through even smaller incisions. Other procedures, such as eyelid surgery, the injection of various fillers and nose correction, are often performed alongside a forehead and brow lift.

The cosmetic effect of a forehead or brow lift can last for years or decades, but to a large extent this depends on the patient’s lifestyle.

Facelifts are a surgical procedure designed to eliminate or to reduce signs of aging in the face and neck. Sagging of the middle part of the face can create deep creases under the lower lid and between the nose and the upper lip (nasolabial fold), so the face looks tired and sad. Facial fat redistribution and loss of facial muscle tone can accompany sagging dewlap, the appearance of whiskers and neck wrinkling.

Although facelifts are designed to correct the signs mentioned above, this procedure is still highly individual because all faces age differently. Sometimes it might be appropriate to perform a lift of the middle part of the face only, while in other cases a traditional face-lift might be recommended. Often facelifts are performed alongside other facial procedures such as blepharoplasty, nose correction, fat grafting, injection of fillers and so on.

The traditional facelift includes a forehead lift, mid-face lift, and chin and neck correction. The surgery is performed through incisions made at the hairline at the forehead, temples and around the ears, so the scars are hidden well after they heal. At this clinic, facelifts are performed using an advanced endoscopic technique that allows us to perform the operation through even smaller incisions.

Usually patients return to work after 2-4 weeks, but it can take up to 6 months for the bruises to disappear and for the scars to finish healing. The cosmetic effect of a facelift can last for years or decades, but depends to a large extent on the patient’s lifestyle.

Eyelid correction (blepharoplasty) is a procedure that corrects sagging skin or “bags” above or under the eyes. This procedure helps to restore a youthful and energetic appearance to the eye area. After an evaluation of the patient’s anatomy and expectations the plastic surgeon will recommend correction to the upper or lower eyelid, or to both.

The removal of excess skin in the upper eyelids is made through incisions performed in natural creases so postoperative scars remain almost invisible. Removal of the fatty bags around the eye, along with the excess skin, is recommended.

Surgery on the lower eyelids is carried out through conjunctival incisions, so the scars after the surgery are completely invisible. If there is excess not only of fatty bags but also of the skin, the incision is made right below the lashes and some of the skin is removed as well.

Healing usually lasts for a couple of weeks, but patients can return to normal physical activity after a few days. Bruising and swelling persist for several weeks but can be masked with sunglasses. The cosmetic effect of blepharoplasty can last for years or decades, but to a large extent this depends on the patient’s lifestyle and genetics.

The nose is the most unreflecting part of the face, so even a small deformation of the nose can have a significant effect on the overall appearance. It depends on the shape of the nose, whether the face will look symmetrical.

Nose-shape correction can prettify the general features of the face. Nose shape correction is performed in order to reduce the size of the nose, change its shape, correct the nasolabial angle, narrow nostrils, straighten the nasal septum, or restore the nose. The final aesthetic result is visible only at the end of healing, but the shape changes are visible almost immediately after the surgery. The effect of the surgery is long lasting.
